Directed by Urszula Laskowska and Mateusz Mularski, 30 mins, 2011

The film was shot in Nicosia in 2010 – a small Georgian village that after the war in 2008 was one of the most severely devastated places in the country. Nicosia is 300 meters away from demarcation line, separating Georgia from occupied lands of South Ossetia. In its centre there is a beautiful ancient monastery from the 5th century. “Let there be peace and bread” tells a story about the life of a small community in the shadow of the Russian troops that are stationed nearby. About the constant stress, financial problems and lack of perspectives. It is however at the same time a story about hope for the future – hope that young people have thanks to the rapidly developing cultural and education centre by the monastery

Project was implemented by Foundation for Promotion Georgian Culture and Economy and was co-financed by Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs under development aid programme 2010.

Premiere took place in May 2011 on TVP Info channel.
