Focus on inclusivity

We implement a project addressed in particular to three target groups among refugees: people experiencing gender-based violence, members of the Roma community, and LBGTQ+.

The project: “Life-saving and gender-sensitive support, including in the field of reproductive health and protection against gender-based violence, for all people affected by the conflict in Ukraine and Poland” is implemented in cooperation with the CARE International in Poland organization and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Every month, the HumanDoc Foundation helps approximately 1,500 refugees. Operating through three integration and legal care centers in Opole and Warsaw, we offer a range of services, with particular emphasis on meeting the unique needs of people who have experienced gender-based violence (GBV), people with disabilities, people belonging to national minorities or declaring themselves as LBGRQ+.

What do we do?

  1. Capacity building and training

We realize the importance of building capacity not only in our organization but also among other institutions and people working with refugees. In our integration centers, we provide specialized training on responding to violence. They are addressed to all our employees and support groups. We also organize advanced workshops conducted by external experts: lawyers, employees of social welfare homes, and the Polish police.

  1. Refugee Support through our integration centers

We run a legal aid center in Warsaw and two refugee integration centers in Warsaw and Opole. We provide services such as psychosocial support, legal and information assistance, integration meetings, and educational activities. We cooperate with other organizations and institutions to organize various activities and events for our beneficiaries.

  1. Refugee support refugees in collective accommodation centers

Our mobile teams, consisting of social guardians, psychologists, and lawyers, visit collective accommodation centers in the following voivodeships: Masovian, Opole, Lower Silesian, Pomeranian, and Silesian. We cooperate with local communities to reach as many people as possible in need of help and provide everyone with the necessary support.

  1. Information Campaign

We try to reach as wide an audience as possible to inform about methods of recognizing violence and how to respond to it. A series of animations on this topic will be published in Ukrainian, Polish, English, and Russian on our social media. The aim of the campaign is to educate and raise awareness about preventing and responding to violence (GBV), as well as sexual and reproductive health services (SRH).

We believe that through joint efforts, comprehensive training, and commitment, we have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of all the people we serve, regardless of their origin, gender, age, and past experiences.
